Such an improvement from the first book!!! I love Jack and Tony. Especially Tony. He's... awesome.
Jack never told Tony anything about his past. Tony was always too easy going and fun loving person to let it bug him. But when Jack started acting strange, his partner wanting to have kids, that's when Tony's very creative mind started conjuring up secret agents and alien abductions, he decided it's time he knew more.
Turns out Jack has one heck of a past, including some monumental mistakes and power struggles.
Jacks children have a traumatic past, a mentally ill mother and no father in their lives - but not for long.
This is a truly family issues story. It's well written, developed, balanced plot, and deep emotions.
