The Gathering: Gideon and Kalie

Squeee!! Another one. Love those little companion stories. And, um… I use naughty words in this one. Hehe

You are cordially invited to the event of the season…

Please be our guest as the National Association of the Lycan Brotherhood hosts the seventy-eighth annual Gathering. The biggest event of the social season, the Gathering has become the favorite method of networking among packs and bringing together fated mates. At the Gathering, shifters from across the country show up to show off and to see who’s the true leader of the pack.

Day two of the Gathering is set aside for interpack business. Shewolf Kalie and her new mate find this truth out the hard way, as her Alpha demands she spend time with another male shifter in the hopes of an alliance. Gideon Kelly assumed finding his mate would be the hardest part of the Gathering, but watching Kalie be charmed by another man while he’s forced to stay on the outside tests the shifter’s control. When an innocent gesture is taken out of context, Gideon goes from respecting an Alpha’s rules to breaking them, while Kalie fights for her right to claim and be claimed.

Come and enjoy tales from the biggest shifter event of the year as wolves from around the country fall in lust, in love, and in fate at the Gathering.

Now that his Alpha found his mate, it’s time for Gideon. And Gideon is soooooo fucking hot. OMG.

As I’ve said before, these little stories that are their own series that is actually a companion to a more significant (plot-wise) series, are great to give more volume and depth with all the little side bits of information we learn about the world of shifters Ellis has created.

And if I wasn’t clear up until now – I love her world. It’s rich, and detailed (but not too nitpicky) and it’s hot, hot, hot!!!

Gideon bonding with Kalie just from seeing her back side standing on a porch was such a great scene. The emotion, the actual zap that happens when a male finds his mate is written so true. That’s where the swoons began.

Then, when we meet Kalie and the first thing she does is protecting her mate, having not even meeting him face to face, talking to him at all… GAH!

Closets. Let’s talk about them for a minute, shall we? I have a small one, but I’m dreaming of a walk-in closet with tons of shelves and hanging space and of course a settee placed in the center… that’s also how I imagine Kalie’s. Gideon is there with her. ‘Nuff said. *faints*

I think my mind started creating future scenarios when we met Winslow (not going to say who he is) and as Kalie says to him whatever it is that she’s saying *evil cackle* (nope, not going to say what that is either), my plans for him are almost perfect. I’m living in denial that my plans aren’t going to be carried out (because the synopsis for book 3 is out).

Anyhoo, my rating is: 5

Get it on Amazon.

** And again, I’m thanking my girl, Ellis, for the early copy. It was me who was lazy and didn’t write her review in time. 😛

I read, review, flail and swoon.
