Seducing Lauren by Kristen Proby

I had the first book in this series down for reading since it came out. I was lazy. I was procrastinating. I can only assume because authors keep releasing books like there’s no tomorrow and I can’t keep up with that and life.

But then Seducing Lauren was offered on NetGalley so I decided it’s time. And I read Loving Cara.

In the second book in the Love Under the Big Sky series from this USA TODAY bestselling author of the With Me in Seattle series, life in Montana gets spicy when a woman and her divorce lawyer sign off the papers—and sign on to love.

Now that his best friend, Josh, has happily settled down with his true love on a Montana ranch, small-town lawyer Ty Sullivan starts thinking that maybe single life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. And when Lauren Cunningham’s no-good ex-husband comes after her for an unexpected trust fund, Ty steps in to protect her. But soon he can’t help but think of her as more than a client. Lauren’s in no mood to jump into another relationship, so how can Ty convince her that her mistake wasn’t getting married, but marrying the wrong guy?

I’ll be honest, I was hoping for Jillian and Zack’s story next, but I can’t say I was disappointed. Ty and Lauren are fantastically matched.

Ty, the fearsome lawyer that was part of Seth’s reeducation process is an absolute sweetheart. He is motivated, passionate, protective, smart, freakin’ hot and even with his childhood secret (uh uh uh… not telling) he’s definitely a good boyfriend material.

Lauren (Lo) is the gorgeous, smart divorcé that used to hang around with Misty the bitch and her crew. Lo’s still having trouble with her ex husband and seeks her attorney out, to only stumble upon Ty. Believe it or not – he refuses her! But he has a good reason for doing that.

The other characters, all of which we know from Loving Cara are fantastic. Probey created a close knit of friends who actually make up a family. Lauren gets a new group of girlfriends, a few great men have her back, and one hell of a dreamy Ty to love her with everything he is.

Lo and Ty’s story is passionate to say the least. It’s complex and is gradually layered which create different angles of observation; on love, on life, on relationships (outside romantic ones!) and on some difficult social issues. Yes, there are some difficult parts in it, and my cold heart shed some tears. I love every author who manages to write emotional scenes. It shows how great their writing is.

I now know Jill and Zack’s story is next and I can’t wait for it. I’m pretty sure we’re going to go on a wild ride. And we’ll get more Seth – I love kids in romance novels.

My rating: 4.5star

Kristen is the author of the Amazon and USA Today bestselling With Me In Seattle series. She has a passion for a good love story and strong characters who love humor and have a strong sense of loyalty and family. Her men are the alpha type; fiercely protective and a bit bossy, and her ladies are fun, strong, and not afraid to stand up for themselves.

Kristen spends her days with her muse in the Pacific Northwest. She enjoys coffee, chocolate and sunshine. And naps.

I read, review, flail and swoon.
