Marked Anthology by Kit Rocha and Lauren Dane

This novella anthology includes 3 stories. One of which I did not read yet. I’m planning to read Vivian Arend‘s series, Six Pack Ranch, and I’m a little anal about reading things in order. I’ll review Rocky Ride when I review the series.

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Lauren Dane takes you into a brand new world in ALL THAT REMAINS. Summer Killian falls fast and hard when Charlie arrives in Paradise Village. But the heat turns all the way up when she learns Charlie is also with Hatch – the man she loved three years before. While she’s not sure she’s cut out for a triad, neither man is going to give her up.

Take a ROCKY RIDE with New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Vivian Arend as she leads you back to the Six Pack Ranch. Anna Coleman might be the law around Rocky Mountain House, but bad boy Mitch Thompson knows that under the stiff RCMP uniform is a woman with a passion for speed and pleasure that matches his own, and he’s not giving up until she’s his.

Kit Rocha returns to Sector Four in BEYOND TEMPTATION. A promise to a dying friend backfires when Noah Lennox finds that the girl he was supposed to rescue is all grown up–and wearing O’Kane ink. He wants to protect her from the secrets of their past, but she wants him. And an O’Kane woman always gets what she wants.

All That Remains by Lauren Dane
Imagine a futuristic world where a plague killed about 2/3 of the world’s population. That’s where we meet Summer, Hatch and Charlie. Summer chose to live close to her sister after the latter suffered a devastating loss and distanced herself from her family. I neglected to mention that living in Triads is pretty much the norm in this world. Summer and Charlie grew up together, but then Charlie left. When one day she meets Hatch and the two clearly has some tension to resolve, and when he later wants to introduce her to his partner, Charlie and Summer get a chance to rekindle their relationship.

All That Remains left me pretty much hot and bothered. Putting aside the exceptional writing, beautiful imagery of the world Dane created, and then putting aside the fact that she managed to create a world in a novella, no less,  the sexual tension the words brought to the page and the incredibly erotic situations made me mark Lauren Dane as an author who’s books I need to read more. And I will.

Beyond Temptation by Kit Rocha
I want to be an O’Kane.  This in itself should be enough as a review, I think.

Remember how we met Emma and Noah in Beyond Pain? Beyond Temptation is the beginning of the continuation of their story. Let me sharpen this last sentence: Emma and Noah CLEARLY have a past. We learn that Noah is Emma’s older brother’s best friend, who was secretly always in awe of her. We also learn that Emma has always harbored a crush on Noah and was extremely hurt when he disappeared from her life. When she was brought to Sector Four and became an O’Kane, she had a family again. And now that Dallas needs Noah’s hacker skills, he and Emma have a chance to reconcile.

But, there’s a problem; Noah doesn’t think Emma deserves him. More than that, he doesn’t think he deserves Emma. He recognize her thriving as an O’Kane, her talent is being cultivated and nurtured, she’s cared for, loved, protected. And him being around her again, now realizing her feelings for him and admitting his feelings for her, he can’t put her at risk, seeing as he has resurfaced and is openly hunted by Dallas’ enemy.

Then again, this is Emma, an O’Kane woman we’re talking about. And have we met an O’Kane woman that didn’t get her man? Not only that, but the beautifully written erotica that is the Beyond series is shown here, in this novella, as well. I think the Kit Rocha ladies are true gems, and I want the Beyond series to continue forever. Beyond…

My rating for both titles: 5
